ਦੇਸ ਬਿਦੇਸ ਨਰੇਸਨ ਜੀਤਿ ਅਨੇਸ ਬਡੇ ਅਵਨੇਸ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
ਆਠੋ ਈ ਸਿਧ ਸਬੈ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਧਨ ਸਰਬ ਭਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸਾਰੇ ॥
This KAL (death) has killed the great sovereigns of all the countries and the earth, who had eight powers, nine treasures, all kinds of accomplishments
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮੁਖੀ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਬਹੁਤੈ ਘਰਿ ਮਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਸੰਭਾਰੇ ॥
Moon-faced women and unlimited wealth
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੀਨ ਅਧੀਨ ਭਏ ਜਮ ਅੰਤਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਗੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਇ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੪੯੧॥
They all left this world with naked feet under the control of Yama, without the remembrance of the Name of the Lord.491.
ਰਾਵਨ ਕੇ ਮਹਿਰਾਵਨ ਕੇ ਮਨੁ ਕੇ ਨਲ ਕੇ ਚਲਤੇ ਨ ਚਲੀ ਗਉ ॥
Even Ravan and Mehravan were helpless before him
ਭੋਜ ਦਿਲੀਪਤਿ ਕੌਰਵਿ ਕੈ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਥ ਦਯੋ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ ਬਲੀ ਕਉ ॥
He did not even co-operate with king Bhoj, the Delhi kings of Surya clan, the mighty Raghunath etc.
ਸੰਗਿ ਚਲੀ ਅਬ ਲੌ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਕੇ ਸਾਚ ਕਹੌ ਅਘ ਓਘ ਦਲੀ ਸਉ ॥
He did not even side with the destroyer of the store of sins
ਚੇਤ ਰੇ ਚੇਤ ਅਚੇਤ ਮਹਾ ਪਸੁ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਲੀ ਨ ਹਲੀ ਹਉ ॥੪੯੨॥
Therefore O great animal-like unconscious mind! come into your senses, but consider that the KAL (death) did not consider anyone its own.492.
ਸਾਚ ਔਰ ਝੂਠ ਕਹੇ ਬਹੁਤੈ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋਧ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਮਾਏ ॥
The being, in many ways, speaking both truth and falsehood, absorbed himself in lust and anger
ਭਾਜ ਨਿਲਾਜ ਬਚਾ ਧਨ ਕੇ ਡਰ ਲੋਕ ਗਯੋ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਗਵਾਏ ॥
For earning and gathering wealth unashamedly lost both theis and the next world
ਦੁਆਦਸ ਬਰਖ ਪੜਾ ਨ ਗੁੜਿਓ ਜੜ ਰਾਜੀਵਿ ਲੋਚਨ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਪਾਏ ॥
Though he obtained education for twelve-years, but did not follow its sayings and lotus-eyed (Rajiv-lochan) could not realise that Lord
ਲਾਜ ਬਿਹੀਨ ਅਧੀਨ ਗਹੇ ਜਮ ਅੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਾਗੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਇ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥੪੯੩॥
The unashamed being will ultimately be caught by Yama and it will have to go with naked feet from this place.493.
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਰੋ ਭਗਵੇ ਮੁਨਿ ਤੇ ਸਬ ਪਾਵਕ ਬੀਚ ਜਲੈਗੀ ॥
O sages! why do you wear ochre-coloured clothes?, they will all be burnt in the fire at the end.
ਕਿਯੋਂ ਇਮ ਰੀਤ ਚਲਾਵਤ ਹੋ ਦਿਨ ਦ੍ਵੈਕ ਚਲੈ ਸ੍ਰਬਦਾ ਨ ਚਲੈਗੀ ॥
Why do you introduce such-like rites, which will not continue for ever?
ਕਾਲ ਕਰਾਲ ਕੀ ਰੀਤਿ ਮਹਾ ਇਹ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਜੁਗੇਸਿ ਛਲੀ ਨ ਛਲੈਗੀ ॥
Now one will be able to deceive the great tradition of the dreadful KAL
ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਦੇਹ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਮਹਾ ਮੁਨਿ ਅੰਤ ਮਸਾਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਧੂਰਿ ਰਲੈਗੀ ॥੪੯੪॥
O sage! your beautiful body will ultimately be mixed with dust.494.
ਕਾਹੇ ਕੋ ਪਉਨ ਭਛੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਹੋ ਮੁਨਿ ਪਉਨ ਭਛੇ ਕਛੂ ਹਾਥਿ ਨ ਐ ਹੈ ॥
O sage! why are you only subsisting on wind ? You will not achieve anything by doing this
ਕਾਹੇ ਕੋ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੋ ਭਗਵਾ ਇਨ ਬਾਤਨ ਸੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ॥
You cannot even attain that supreme Lord by wearing the ochre-coloured clothes
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਤੇ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਬਸ ਕਾਲ ਸਬੈ ਹੈ ॥
Look at the illustrations of all the Vedas, Pranas etc., then you will know that all are under the control of KAL
ਜਾਰਿ ਅਨੰਗ ਨ ਨੰਗ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਸੀਸ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਟਾਊ ਨ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੪੯੫॥
You can be called ANANG (limbless) by burning your lust, but even your matted locks will not accompany your head and all this will be destroyed over here.495.
ਕੰਚਨ ਕੂਟ ਗਿਰ꠳ਯੋ ਕਹੋ ਕਾਹੇ ਨ ਸਾਤਓ ਸਾਗਰ ਕਿਯੋਂ ਨ ਸੁਕਾਨੋ ॥
Undoubtedly, the citadels of gold be reduced to dust, all the seven oceans be dried up,
ਪਸਚਮ ਭਾਨੁ ਉਦ੍ਰਯੋ ਕਹੁ ਕਾਹੇ ਨ ਗੰਗ ਬਹੀ ਉਲਟੀ ਅਨੁਮਾਨੋ ॥
The sun may rise in the west, the Ganges may flow in the opposite direction,
ਅੰਤਿ ਬਸੰਤ ਤਪ꠳ਯੋ ਰਵਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਨ ਚੰਦ ਸਮਾਨ ਦਿਨੀਸ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨੋ ॥
The sun may heat in the spring season, the sun may become cold like the moon, the earth supported by the tortoise may shake,
ਕਿਯੋਂ ਡਮਡੋਲ ਡੁਬੀ ਨ ਧਰਾ ਮੁਨਿ ਰਾਜ ਨਿਪਾਤਨਿ ਤਿਯੋਂ ਜਗ ਜਾਨੋ ॥੪੯੬॥
But even then, O king of the sages! the destruction of the world is certain by KAL.496.
ਅਤ੍ਰਿ ਪਰਾਸਰ ਨਾਰਦ ਸਾਰਦ ਬ꠳ਯਾਸ ਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਜਿਤੇ ਮੁਨ ਭਾਏ ॥
There have been many sages like Atri, Parashar, Narada, Sharda, Vyas etc.,
ਗਾਲਵ ਆਦਿ ਅਨੰਤ ਮੁਨੀਸ੍ਵਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਗਨਾਏ ॥
Who cannot be counted even by Brahma
ਅਗਸਤ ਪੁਲਸਤ ਬਸਿਸਟ ਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਨ ਜਾਨ ਪਰੇ ਕਿਹ ਦੇਸ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥
There had been many sages like Agastya, Pulastya, Vashistha etc., but it could not be known to which directions they have gone
ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਇ ਬਨਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਮਤਿ ਫੇਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਪਰ ਫੇਰ ਨ ਆਏ ॥੪੯੭॥
They composed mantras and established many sects, but they merged in the cycle of dreadful existence, that after that nothing could be known about them.497.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਰੰਧ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਫੋਰਿ ਮੁਨੀਸ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸੁ ਜੋਤਿ ਕੇ ਮਧਿ ਮਿਲਾਨੀ ॥
Breaking the Brahmarandhra (an aperture in the crown of the head), the light of the king of sages merged in that Supreme Light
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਲੀ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਸੋ ਇਮ ਬੇਦਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਿਮ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
His love was absorbed in the Lord like all kinds of compositions are interlinked in the Veda
ਪੁੰਨ ਕਥਾ ਮੁਨਿ ਨੰਦਨ ਕੀ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਮੁਖ ਸੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ꠳ਯਾਮ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥
In his way, the poet Shyam has described the episode of the great sage Dutt
ਪੂਰਣ ਧਿਆਇ ਭਯੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਜਯ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਗਨਾਥ ਭਵੇਸ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥੪੯੮॥
This chapter is now being completed hailing the Lord of the world and the mother of the world.498.
